| While visiting up in Manchester, NH, in July 2011, Talia directs my attention to this Reddish-brown Stag Beetle (Pseudolucanus capreolus), commonly called a June Bug. It is huge -- over an inch long -- and has wicked jaws and hooked feet. This one is probably a female because it has "smaller" head and jaws. |
