| This is the first time I have seen a Bearing Tree sign -- this one nailed to a tree near the summit cairn. This sign is supposed to indicate direction (bearing) and distance to a nearby corner of the rectangular United States Public Land Survey (PLS). I find similar signs on Whitcher Hill, Carter Ridge and Mount Evans. |
