I hiked Mount Tom (4051-ft; White Mountains, NH) in May 2005 via the Avalon and A-Z trails. Record cold last night (in the 20s) left crisp air today, making for great mountain vistas. There are two fine viewpoints atop Mount Tom, including this one to the south. The near (dark) mountains are Field (left) and West Field (right). The mid (lighter) mountains are Anderson/Lowell (left) and Vose Spur/Carrigain (right), with Carrigain Notch between. The far (lightest) mountains are Passaconaway (left) and Whiteface (right). |
