American Independence Museum in the historic Ladd-Gilman House at Exeter in southern New Hampshire

Near hike start is the American Independence Museum, housed in the historic Ladd-Gilman House (c. 1721). There are many other fine historic buildings in Exeter; plus, of course, famous Phillips Exeter Academy.
