The view southwest from Thumb includes Grand Monadnock
and some want-to-be-winter storm clouds (a few flurries, that is it).
There is a memorial plaque to Paul L. Anderson
atop Thumb with a quote from Thoreau that reads:
"Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity! I say, let your affairs be a two or three, and not a hundred or a thousand; instead of a million count half a dozen, and keep your accounts on your thumb-nail." |
