| Winsor Dam, built in 1940, is 2640 feet long and 170 feet high, providing drinking water for Boston and many surrounding cities. This photo is of the back side of the dam (away from the water). I am standing on the start of the top-of-dam road; a hiker down on the low-land road gives a visual measure of the dam's size. |
