Trout Lilies (Erythronium americanum) in May on Mount Pemigewasset in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

Along the trail we see several flowers, including this fine trio of Trout Lilies (Erythronium americanum). The "trout" name refers to the mottled leaves whose coloration resembles brook trout.
