| On the drive home we stop at Massabesic Lake, where we find this unusual mystery caterpillar. The combination of wrinkled white upper body, solid yellow underbody, and frosty black head defies identification! It may be the white form of an Abbott's Sphinx (Sphecodina abbottii), but if so it is missing its characteristic tail knob. |
