| Fifteen of us hiked Moosilauke (4802-ft; White Mountains, NH) via the Beaver Brook Trail in May 2003. The upper trail is a snowpack tightrope: center trail is well packed and supportive, but four inches to either side is thigh-deep-post-hole territory. I'm told this spring trail condition is termed "monorail". Tom, Hal and Larry chat at trailside next to the falls. |
