| November is a tough time to hike. Newly-fallen leaf cover conceals rocks and roots, so on a slippery slope you have to walk slowly and feel your way with your feet (poles are a big help!). And the leaves also camouflage the trail: several times I could not tell which way the trail went, sometimes guessing wrong and having to retrace my steps. |
