| Tom and Fred hiked Mount Major (1786-ft; Belknap Range, NH) in February 2003. Tom stands near the summit looking out over Lake Winnipesaukee towards Mount Shaw (tallest mountain on the horizon). That's Mount Washington in white just to the left of Mount Shaw. Yesterday's ice storm coated the tree branchlets with ice and gave our trail a crunchy surface (we wore crampons). |
