Stuff to Bring:
- Boots (ankle-height and warm enough for your feet)
- Gaiters (to seal the boot top from snow)
- Hat & Gloves (water-resistant, plus overmitts if really cold)
- Clothing in layers (water-minimizing: cotton is poor; polyester is good)
- Waterproof/breathable jacket & pants (Goretex or similar)
- Food & Water (protected from freezing)
- Foot traction (MicroSpikes or similar)
- Snowshoes (if the snow is deep)
- Hiking poles (they really help balance)
- Plus hiking basics (stuff you would bring on any hike)
