| We visited the Maine Coast in 2010. In a Camden garden we find Opium Poppy (Papaver somniferum 'Peony Flowered'). Although this is a gorgeous garden flower cultivar, it is also THE opium plant: the drug is harvested from the green seed pod (photo upper right). |
