Water Avens (Geum rivale) in July at Northwest Crystal Mountain in northern New Hampshire

While we slosh through mountain swamps, we find neat flowers unique to this habitat. Here, for instance, is Water Avens (Geum rivale). This wildflower is also called Purple Avens.
