| In the woods below snowline is Late Fall Oyster (Panellus serotinus). The inset (lower left) shows the underside of an adjacent mushroom pair. Although it is not considered a "shelf mushroom", the very-short off-center stem and growth on dead hardwood sure makes it look that way to me. |
