| This Variable Oakleaf Caterpillar (Lochmaeus manteo) hitches a ride on my pant leg, so I take its photo. This species is common in our area in fall, especially around oak trees (its preferred food). Coloration and patterning are highly variable, of which this is a fine-looking fellow. |
