winter visitor and view at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge near Wells in coastal Maine

Here is a view south out to sea from one of the trailside observation platforms. The sun is low in the sky and the view bleak in mid-winter. But we hear a woodpecker and see a seagull today.
