| Tom and Fred climbed North Brother (4151-ft; Baxter State Park, ME) in September 2002. Overnight we stay at Big Moose, a great private campground just outside Baxter State Park's south entrance. Tom takes Fred's photo on the peak. Because the mountain range rises abruptly, the landscape to the north appears to be w-a-a-a-y down there! Our hiking gear includes gloves (for scrambling over rough rocks) and jacket (to fend off cold, blustery wind). |
