| Allison, Cathy and Fred visit Beaver Brook in April 2009 on a salamander hunt. Checking under rotten logs we find a Northern Redback Salamander (Plethodon cinereus). This species is distinguished by its small size, dark color and orange back stripe. (Although some individuals lack orange, according to Wikipedia.) |
